GHS 73 - Walton HS 65
The Bears went on the road to the Verizon Classic one of the premier events in November and beat perinneal state power Walton High School in a game were GHS led from start to finish. Offensively, the bears had a balanced attack with Demaree Walker leading all scorers with 19 pts. Darantae Barber finished with 15 pts & 5 rbs, Shundarious Jordan chipped in with 13 pts & 12 rbs, while Zalan Richards rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 pts & 11 rbs. In his first game at GHS talented Freshman Corderious Hastings finished with 8 pts, 7 assists, 5 steals, 5 rbs.
GHS 83 - Locust Grove 54
GHS went on the road to earn their first region victory of the year in convincing style. The Bears burned energy and were relentless on the defensive end to up by as many as 32 points in the 3rd quarter before cruising to a big road win. In all it was a total team effort with as many as 5 players scoring in double figures.
GHS 87 - Lowndes County 81
During Thaksgiving break the Bears went down 75 south to participate in the Lowndes County Thanksiving Tournament to take on the home team. GHS jumped out early and never looked back. Freshman Corderius Hastings poured in 26 pts and Senior Demaree Walker had a big night with 22 pts
GHS 69 - Valdosta 75
GHS jumped out early in the first half to take a 8 pt lead into half-time but came out slow in the 2nd half. Senior Demaree Walker finished with 22 pts and Sophomore Darontae Barber chipped in with 10 pts in the loss
GHS 67 - Walnut Grove 58
Playing it's sixth straight road game, your bears battled to come out on top with a 9 point win. GHS used a big 4th period to go up double digits. Four players reached double digits with Senior Shundarious Jordan scoring 11 pts and 7 rbs and freshman Corderious Hastings nearing a rare Quadruple Double with 9 pts 11 assists 9 steals and 8 rebounds. To reach the rare Quadruple Double players need to score a 10 or better in 4 catergories.
GHS 87 - Eagles Landing 75
Another balanced scoring attack for the eagles offensively with 5 players scoring in double figures. Seniors Zalan Richards led the way with 17 pts and 9 rebounds, Shundarious Jordan 11 pts and 8 rebounds, Jordan Colbert 15 pts and 8 rebounds, Demaree Walker 18 pts and 4 rebounds. With the Seniors setting the tone, the underclassman followed lead with Corderius Hastings 18 pts 5 assists 5 steals, Sophomore Zakobe Harris 5 points, and Sophomore Darontae Barber chipping in with 4 points and 4 rebounds
GHS 86 - Eastside - 73
Seniors Shundarious Jordan and Demaree Walker displayed their veteran poise in combining for 44 pts 16 rbs 9 steals and 6 blocks in leading the way to a big region road win. The win moved the bears to 4-0 in region play. Freshman Corderius Hastings (20 pts 6 assists 4 rbs and 5 stls) provided good leadership in the win. GHS 79 - Hampton 39
The Bears used a huge early run to take a 37-13 lead early on in the game. 10 players scored for the bears as they ran away with the contest. Sophomore Tyshaun Crawford scored 6 pts and 5 rbs, Juniors Dorien Banks and Chris Ponder scored 6 and 8 points respectively. Sandy Creek 72 - GHS 48
GHS went on the road again to take on perinneal State Power Sandy Creek and fell short. The 1st half saw the contest go back and forth until Sandy Creek used a 12-4 run the last 4 minutes of the 2nd quarter to take a double digit lead into halftime. The Bears staged a furious rally to start the 3rd quarter but foul trouble and hot shooting from the 3pt line helped the Patriots roll to a 24 pt win.
GHS 61 - LANETT 55
GHS went west on 16 to participate in a post season christmas tournament at Newnan High School. The first of 3 Alabama opponents was Lanett who resides just west of Columbus on I-85. Your Bears took an early double digit lead and controlled the tempo of the game. Lanett used a late run to dig into the lead but the bears were to strong and finished the Hornets. Sr 6'2 Demaree Walker led the way with 25 pts, Sr 6'5 Shundarious Jordan brought tremendous energy in scoring 11 pts and grabbing 11 rebounds. A balanced effort was finished off by So 6'5 Darontae Barber with 10 pts 7 rebounds, Fr 5'11 Corderius Hastings with 8 pts 4 assists 3 steals, and Sr 6'5 Zalan Richards with 7 pts 9 rebounds
GHS 65 - Park Crossing 47
The 2nd Round game brout about Park Crossiing out of Montgomery, Al. The bears used pressure early and often to score easy bakets and break out to a 20 point halftime lead. The bench provided a big spark as So 6' Kobe Harris poured in 16 pts. Fr 5'11 Corderius Hastings finished the game with 18 pts. Sr 6'2 Demaree Walker finished with 10 pts while
So 6'5 Darontae Barber chipped in 10 pts.
GHS 61 - Auburn 58
On the Final Day of the Classic GHS squared off against Auburn in a heavy weight bought! The tigers jumped out to an early first quarter lead. The bears battled back using a suffocating defensive effort that lead to halftime lead. During the second half the bears used a team effort to stop So 6'9 Garrison Brooks, one of the top sophomores in the country. With the game tied, Fr Corderius Hastings swished a 3 with no time on the clock to secure the victory. Fr 6' Corderius Hastings led the way with 18 pts and So 6' Kobe Harris dropped 16 pts off the bench.
GHS 71 - Spalding 57
From the tip your Bears used a suffocating defensive effort to jump out to a early first quarter lead. Again the Bears blitzed the Jaguars of Spalding and took a 37-17 into halftime. GHS kept its foot on the pedal as they took a 55-28 lead into the fourth quarter and coasted into a 71-57 win over the crosstown rival. With a crowd of 3,000 plus at the game
